Abernant Lake, Wales - Residential  14-18th October

Everyone settled in their rooms and very happy. Archers are shooting well and the compass group are dashing around the grounds . Everyone really looking forward to dinner ! Schedule has changed a little.. so we are all doing the scavenger hunt in the dark which should be excellent fun.

An eventful scavenger hunt… lots of torches, racing around and finished by some artwork, inspired by nature.  Happy children.

A soggy morning… great archery and some compass work.. off for very muddy low ropes and some dry fencing.

…. And the rain came! A fabulous muddy low ropes. The children really had to challenge themselves and work together .

The children had a duel before lunch

Such a busy afternoon… so much laughter and mud! The children have been such fun and so encouraging towards each other. More low ropes , blind trail and climbing. Another great meal with donuts for pudding.. the children are now excitedly changing for the disco.

Soggy Wednesday. A great long night’s sleep by children and staff, (slightly longer than expected). Big breakfast ( the children have spotted the burgers and chips for lunch) and torrential rain. Thank you for all the waterproof trousers. The children had THE BEST TIME during Manor Olympics welly-wagging, playing mass tag games and jumping in muddy puddles . They were so, so happy. Quick turn around and now one group are climbing and another indoors.

A torrential afternoon on the lake where we canoed and kayaked.  The children were brilliant and have showered and changed. They are warm and ready for tea and an evening walk later.

Thursday sunshine… lovely morning in the sunshine ( finally). We have done rifles and a zip line across the lake, with the children pulling a boat to return the zip liners . Fabulous fun and we found a box tree caterpillar. Huge lunch , plenty of beige food enjoyed by all!

A busy afternoon on the lake paddle boarding and on the obstacle course.  Looking forward to some night abseiling and an early night. The children are tired but really resilient and still full of questions . They have mixed feelings about leaving tomorrow, they are still enjoying all the activities, but are looking forward to coming home. Running a bit low on dry clothes, so we will be happy escape any more rain. Hill walk in the morning and then home time!

The sun came out for the final day.. a lovely, long hill walk in the beautiful welsh hills. The children are suitably exhausted and ready for a sleep on the bus (we hope!).
